Law Consultancy Network welcomes two new members

Katherine Thomas and Simon McCrum are the latest additions to the Law Consultancy Network’s growing network of management consultants in the UK and Australasia.

The Law Consultancy Network has welcomed two new consultants to the group; Katherine Thomas and Simon McCrum.

The network, of which Sue Bramall is also a member, comprises a number of leading independent law firm management consultants in the UK and Australasia.

Katherine, who is based in Perth, Australia, launched and led the highly successful ‘newlaw’ business Vario, before establishing her own consultancy in 2016.  Prior to that, she was Head of Marketing for Pinsent Masons.  Katherine’s consultancy – Katherine Thomas Consulting - provides strategy, marketing and new service development advice to firms all over the world who want to make the changes in the market for legal services work for them.

Before establishing his consultancy in 2016, Simon was Managing Partner of Darby’s Solicitors, transforming its fortunes from a low base when he joined in 2007, to become the country’s fastest growing firm in 2013.  Prior to that, he was a commercial litigation lawyer and then Director of Business Development for Pannone.  Through his consultancy McCrum & Co, Simon advises law firms on growth and people strategies and effective financial management.

Commenting on the growth of the team Andrew Otterburn, one of the founding members of the Law Consultancy Network says “We are delighted to welcome Katherine and Simon to the group.  Both have a track record of success within law firms prior to establishing their consultancies, which means they bring a wealth of practical experience to their work.  This is invaluable in an environment where law firms want advice not only on what to do, but also on how to do it.  Katherine’s presence in Australia combines with our consultant Simon Tupman who is based in New Zealand, to enable us to offer genuine UK/Australasian coverage.  Given the close links between UK and Australasian firms, we are looking forward to collaboration and insights that will help clients on both sides of the globe progress and thrive.”
