ASA warns of misleading advertising to older people

The Advertising Standards Authority has warned against misleading advertising to older people.

Law firms often target advertising at specific client groups, such as private client services targeted at elder people who need a will or power of attorney. Extra care needs to be taken where the target audience is older, or firms could be at risk of being seen to take advantage of potentially vulnerable consumers.

The Advertising Standard Authority recommends contacting their Copy Advice team for advice on non-broadcast adverts, if marketers are unsure about their messaging.
