Collyer Bristow LLP win "Excellence in Marketing and Business Development" Award
Collyer Bristow LLP won the award for "Excellence in Marketing & Business Development" at the Law Society Excellence Awards 2011 for their project "Connect".
This was a simple, yet highly effective campaign which generated a substantial amount of new business for the firm. By engaging with fee-earners and setting clear targets to approach existing and new clients, a total of 740 new connections were made. The project contributed at least 19% to the firm's growth of 8% over the period concerned.
In judging the awards, this programme really stood out as it demonstrated strong leadership, clear SMART objectives, a commitment and momentum throughout the team which was followed through with measurement. Not only did the programme yield an impressive return on investment, but it was done without major external investment. Given the current economic climate, we felt that this was indeed an example of real excellence.
Two other programmes were highly commended.
Emmersons Solicitors took the initiative to launch a campaign lobbying for change in sentancing legislation, to raise the profile of the firm's prison law department and to promote their brand. The campaign encouraged prisoners to share their views in a response to the Government's green paper on sentancing.
Stephens Scown developed a new iPhone app to champion more than 600 food and drink producers and retailers in the South West, marketing the firm's specialist legal team within the food and drink marketplace across the region.
The Excellence in Marketing & Business Development Award was sponsored by Moneypenny.
